Populis and Les Lunes, feat. Winemaker Shaunt Oungoulian
Thursday February 21, 2019, 6:00 PM

Populis is a California DIY, natural wine company that's all about bringing fun natural wines to the people. All of the grapes for Populis's affordable, small-production wines are farmed organically, and, aside from small doses of sulfur at bottling (if needed), nothing is added. Les Lunes is a label devoted to bringing back the old school, classic California, when wines were fresh, restrained and age-able. Winemaker Shaunt Oungoulian joins us to detail his exciting new releases. $20

Fine Cote d'Or Burgundies from Marchand-Tawse
Thursday February 28, 2019, 6:00 PM

Marchand-Tawse is at the forefront of a new wave of Burgundy vignerons and micro-négociants who, with their partner-growers, embrace organic and biodynamic farming practices while rejecting dogma. Since 2010, Pascal Marchand and Moray Tawse have acquired their own village, premier cru, and grand cru parcels, and they purchased Gevrey-Chambertin’s famous Domaine Maume in 2012. We have become devoted fans of their pure, fresh, elegant, satiny and aromatic Burgundies. If you haven't yet tried these sensational wines, you are in for a treat! $20

A Taste of Fruili with I Clivi's Mario Zanusso
Thursday March 7, 2019, 6:00 PM

The hill country of Friuli, in Italy's far northeast corner, is dominated by small estates whose owners work the land. The best wines come from the top subzones of Collio and Colli Orientali del Friuli, the latter being the home of I Clivi. Drawing from old, hillside vines, owner-winemaker Mario Zanusso crafts his wines as naturally as possible, vinifying Ribolla Giala, Friulano, Malvasia and Verduzzo with minimal intervention from vine to bottle. The result is vivid, mineral-laden whites that offer a transparent reflection of Friuli's compelling terroir. Please join us to welcome Mario as he shares with us his new releases. $20

Oregon Pinot Noir: Purity & Finesse, with Tom Elliot
Thursday March 14, 2019, 6:00 PM

We're delighted to host Tom Elliot, one of the most knowledgeable (and affable!) experts on Oregon wine around. Tom has been discovering, championing and curating fine Oregon wine since the 1980's, when the state's wine industry was in its infancy. Situated at roughly 45 degrees north, the same latitude as Burgundy's Cote d'Or, Oregon's Willamette Valley has, in the decades since, firmly established itself as a world-class home for Pinot Noir. Tom returns to AWM to taste us through cuvees from some of the state's greatest vineyards and winemakers. $20
